ABOUT
Visual Design is a small, creative, synergistic and itinerant studio, involved in several co-operations in various co-working fields. Its main distinguishing feature is cultural and social contamination and exchange.
It started its activity in 2013 thanks to a project of the videomaker Simona Picchi and her ten-year experience in tv production and post production fields, and initiated a new concept of “creative sharing”, in the field of video production and post production.
Simona Picchi trained in Florence and Milan. Her professional path as videomaker and video designer started in 2000 when she co-operated with some of the most active creative studios in central Italy, thus having the opportunity to work at a high professional level both in domestic and foreign contexts. So from 2000 to 2010 she co-operated as video operator and video editor in the creation of documentaries, magazines and television adverts with the following production and post-production studios: Mode Interactive, Visual Affaire and The Fake Factory. From 2003 she worked with Visual Affaire on the post-production of tv programmes such as: La storia siamo noi-Rai3, Babel-Sky, Slow food on film-Gambero Rosso Channel. With the team The Fake Factory she co-operated to create
video installations and video settings for important private and public events, such as Heavy Light Festival Milano, 100 Anni Mondadori, Salone del Mobile di Milano, Pitti Uomo Firenze, Fiori e cioccolato in Roma, a bite of tuscany in the big apple in New York . In 2010 she started working as video editor for the Swiss broadcasting channel in Italian language RSI, then in 2012 she was promoted to author and director of the in-depth cultural programme “Cult TV”. In 2013 she set up the “creative sharing” studio Visual Design and has worked with artists from all over Europe: she has produced about twenty short documentaries about their lives and jobs broadcast on the tv channel LA1-RSI. She is the author of three projects which are being produced:Cultural Creatives , News For Good . From 2014 he worked as artistic director for Italy, with IDA TV - Bucharest, thematic channel of architecture and design. (Http://www.idatv.ro) . Since 2013 she has been art director of the Street Arts' Festival “Aurora's dream”, which is at its third edition. Simona Picchi lives in Italy and Switzerland. Visual Design has its headquarters inside the co-working creative workshop, “Space 1929” in Lugano.
